Dangers of Black Magic: A Silent War Against the Soul

ruqyah for black magic

In the hidden corners of the world, far from the spotlight of modernity, there lies a practice so ancient, so dangerous, and so poisonous that it continues to ruin lives in silence—black magic. Often dismissed as superstition by the ignorant, black magic (sihr in Arabic) is a deeply rooted spiritual crime. It corrupts the unseen, distorts destiny, and brings immense suffering to victims and practitioners alike. Its danger is not symbolic or metaphorical—it is real, destructive, and strictly forbidden by Allah.

Black magic is not a myth. It is explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an, practiced by deviant sorcerers, and fought by the Prophets themselves. It ruins marriages, causes illness, twists minds, and invites jinns into lives and homes. And worst of all, it leads the soul to shirk—the gravest sin of all.

What is Black Magic?

Black magic is the deliberate use of occult practices to harm, control, or influence others through forbidden spiritual means. The practitioners—magicians, sorcerers, or witches—invoke jinns and devils to serve them in manipulating the natural order. These practitioners commit acts of kufr by relying on satanic rituals, sacrificing to demons, and reciting incantations designed to please devils.

Allah says:

“…but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic…”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:102)

This verse alone establishes that black magic is not just a crime—it is disbelief. It takes a person out of Islam if they engage in its practice knowingly and willingly.

The Most Common Effects of Black Magic

The influence of black magic can manifest in numerous ways, many of which are devastating. These are not hypothetical symptoms—they are real-world patterns observed by thousands of raqis (ruqyah practitioners) around the world:

  • Sudden breakdown of marriage: Spouses begin to hate each other with no reason. One may find the other unbearably repulsive, often with no logical cause.
  • Chronic illness with no medical explanation: Pains that doctors cannot diagnose, or sicknesses that resist treatment.
  • Mental confusion and memory loss: Victims may feel as if their mind is being blocked or fogged, especially when trying to do acts of worship.
  • Inability to get married or constant relationship failures: This is often done through sihr at-ta‘teel (magic of blockage).
  • Nightmares, sleep paralysis, or seeing shadows: Especially if they are recurring and disturb the person’s emotional state.
  • Sudden hatred, depression, or isolation: The victim begins to isolate themselves, fall into despair, or lose their will to live.

These are only a few examples. In truth, black magic is designed to destroy—spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially.

The Dark Pact Behind Every Spell

The most terrifying aspect of black magic is that it always involves a pact with the devils. Sorcerers must commit acts of kufr—such as writing the Qur’an in filth, sacrificing animals without Allah’s name, or even committing incest or murder—to gain the services of the jinns. These jinns then carry out their assigned task: to haunt, possess, destroy, or influence the victim.

This is why even visiting a magician is haram. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever goes to a fortune-teller or a soothsayer and believes what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad.”
(Sunan Abi Dawood)

The world of black magic is never neutral. It is pure darkness—those who enter it, even out of desperation, walk toward spiritual death.

Victims and Collateral Damage

Black magic does not only affect the direct victim. It spreads like a disease, touching spouses, children, and entire households. The jinns sent by the magician often remain in the home long after the initial task is complete, haunting and tormenting anyone near the afflicted.

Worse, victims often have no idea what’s happening to them. They suffer in silence, going from doctor to psychiatrist to counselor, all while the true root of their problem remains buried in the unseen.

How to Protect Yourself

Prevention is better than cure. Black magic can only enter the life of someone who has left the door open. Here’s how to shut it firmly:

  1. Daily Ruqyah Protection
    • Recite Ayat al-Kursi after every prayer and before sleeping.
    • Read Surah Al-Falaq and An-Naas three times morning and evening.
    • Read the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah every night.
  2. Stay Away from Major Sins
    • Sins weaken the spiritual shield. Avoid pornography, zina, interest-based income, and toxic relationships. Repent sincerely.
  3. Don’t Display Your Blessings Excessively
    • Envy is one of the open doors used in black magic. Avoid overexposing your marriage, wealth, or beauty online.
  4. Destroy All Charms and Talismans
    • Do not hang up “protective” items unless they are Islamic (e.g., Qur’anic verses in proper form). Magic often comes in the form of written spells hidden in jewelry or cloth.
  5. Seek Knowledge and Ruqyah Treatment
    • If afflicted, seek authentic Islamic ruqyah—not fake healers or paid “spiritual coaches.” True raqis use Qur’an and Sunnah only.

Final Thoughts: A War of Light and Darkness

Black magic is a war—a war on the soul, on families, on innocence, and on faith. It is a silent weapon, often used by those full of hatred, envy, and spiritual corruption. And yet, its power is nothing compared to the power of tawheed, du’a, and trust in Allah.

Allah is the one who allows harm and the one who removes it. No magic works unless He permits it as a test. And just as He tests, He also heals. As Allah says:

“…They cannot harm anyone except by the permission of Allah…”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:102)

So do not fear magicians—fear Allah, and return to Him. Strengthen your prayer, your du’a, your dhikr, and your Qur’an. Light always defeats darkness. And Allah’s light is eternal.
